Super-Charge Innovation

Closing the Gap between Science and Engineering

We can accelerate breakthroughs, inventions, and game-changing innovations by closing the gap between science and engineering. Although it is generally assumed that these two professions are working in close collaboration, the reality is that the relationship is not robust and needs a greater degree of serious attention and institutional focus.

The Innovation Exchanges will also offer technological and industrial sectors opportunities for peer-to-peer interaction.

To achieve sustainable development goals, the Atlas Innovation Exchange will bring together as never before the global scientific community and the engineering societies. The agenda of the Innovation Exchange will, in the first instance, be constructed by the two professions working together with solutions to the grand challenges as its touchstone.

Among other major topics of focus will be new energy ideas, artificial intelligence, quantum computers, materials science, biosynthesis, and technologies that are designed to meet the global imperatives for climate, risk reduction, and sustainable development. Innovations that are “best-in-class” will be highlighted and brought to the attention of the finance community and government leaders.

In all cases, the Innovation Exchange will consider the technological trajectory, the financial viability, the scale-up potential, and the capacity of any given innovation to transform the search for solutions for climate and sustainable development.

Atlas will focus by asking the question: which innovation has the greatest potential to advance the drive towards a new Golden Age of Infrastructure, embracing the climate agenda, the alleviation of poverty, and the economic, social, and environmental goals that have united national leaders around the world in the sustainable development movement?
